Wirral Mind has been commissioned to establish and coordinate a Drug and Alcohol Misuse Lived Experience Network (LEN) for Wirral. The request came from Public Health Wirral who have asked for the expertise of those with experience of drug and/ or alcohol misuse to support implementing the Wirral Drugs Strategy. The Wirral Drugs Strategy 2023 – 2027 has been developed to reduce drug-related harm, including drug related deaths across the Wirral. The vision for this is for…
“…all people in Wirral to be able to live healthier, happy lives, free from the harmful impacts of drugs”
The LEN ensures that people with experience of substance misuse have a say in influencing and shaping of local prevention and recovery services, as well as substance misuse policies.
What are the priorities of the Wirral Drugs Strategy?
- Building a positive culture to reduce drug-related harm
- Protecting children and young people
- Strengthening the treatment and recovery system
- Reducing health inequalities and reducing drug-related deaths
- Working together to reduce drug-related crime and harm in Wirral
