About the Network
The Cheshire and Merseyside Mental Health Transformation Programme (MHTP) is an NHS project for Cheshire and Merseyside, designed to ensure that people accessing NHS mental health services receive effective, compassionate care, whether as a patient in hospital, someone in crisis or using community services.
Key to this programme is using the lived experience of people just like you to co-produce services and initiatives, ensuring they are compassionate and equitable.
The LEN brings together people with Lived Experience and empowers them to find their voice. It creates an innovative forum for sharing your ideas for how services can be improved and truly meet future patient’s needs.
What does the LEN do?
We meet regularly, both face to face and online, and work closely with our NHS colleagues and partners to provide a lived experience perspective on new initiatives, existing services and areas for development. We raise issues and concerns, review documents, speak with staff and, most importantly, act as a critical friend to services, helping to ensure that the voices and experiences of people who use mental health services are heard and considered across a range of work areas.
